
As is often the case in Tower Grove East, even among large single family areas, we get thrown for a loop and come across a huge multi-family house, like the one we see here.

But then we go back to the standard houses we see in the Tower Grove Heights subdivision that is perhaps more famous west of Grand in Tower Grove South, but also stretched to the east.

There is a wide variety of eclectic styles which mix all sorts of influences and revivals.


Cornices get lost, as I’m sure is almost certainly the case below.

The widespread use of glazed tile is seen, as well, and is extremely hard to replace; often what happens is that it’s all ripped off and replaced with black asphalt shingles.




And finally, we reach the striking Messiah Lutheran, which anchors Pestalozzi’s corner with South Grand Boulevard.
