For the end of our tour, Jessica took us up the hill to the chapel of the former seminary, which is where there had been the most dramatic change in the grounds by the Hoffman Companies. As I’ve mentioned before, the trees were cleared and a 1940s building was demolished (you can see its foundation down below to the left above).

The new owners are still planning on having the chapel serve as a wedding venue, and were even setting up for a ceremony when we visited.

It’s a beautiful space, and in excellent condition. The basement is actually quarried straight into the bedrock, but unfortunately it was locked so we couldn’t see that cool detail. The former baptismal font in the middle of the center aisle is now the vent for the HVAC.

A couple of nice stained glass windows flank the altar in the apse.

There is a spectacular view out over the valley and the old seminary from on top of the hill. It is a great place to have a wedding.
