I’ve visited this church many times over the year, sitting on the southwest corner of 19th and Newhouse Streets.
Perhaps what is unique is how well it still fits in with its urban surroundings. So many congregations seem hellbent on demolishing everything in sight for parking lots that get used for three hours, and then generate zero tax dollars in property or sales taxes the rest of the week. Sorry, not sorry for saying that.
The beauty of this intersection is that all four corners are still filled with buildings.
Just south of the church is the old German language school, which predates the second church building to the north.
